When I was a classroom teacher I always found interest in the work the speech, occupational and physical therapists did with my students. After observing some of their lessons and volunteering at a pediatric rehab center for a few months, I fell in love with these fields! Since then, I find myself reading more and more about these areas of development and how crucial they are for a young child.
Now, having two boys of my own, I can put my knowledge to use and I am excited to share with y'all! (Please note that the links below are affiliate links and at no additional cost to you, I earn a small commission when you click through the link).

Let me know in the comments below if you have any fun gross motor activities that you do with your child at home. I would love to hear your ideas and connect. Come follow me on Instagram @toddler_fundamentals for lots of themed gross motor activities.
Remember, all children develop at their own pace. If you have any concerns contact your child’s pediatrician.
This is a short video I did on GROSS MOTOR SKILLS. I share what they are, why I include them in my weekly plans and ways you can help your child develop this skill at home. Click the photo below to be directed to my YouTube channel.
Like I talked about in the video, here’s a list of the four items you probably have at home and activities you can do with each:
1. Pillows
2. Toilet paper and paper towel rolls
5. Puzzles
Here’s five items you can purchase at the store to help your child develop their gross motor skills:
1. Cones
3. Balls
4. Hula Hoop
5. Construction paper
And that's all I have for Gross Motor Development! Remember to subscribe to my YouTube channel for tot school tips every Tuesday and new weekly themes every Friday.
